Poet Republik is a micro-press and producer dedicated to the ecopoetics of writers, artists, and thinkers helmed by Maria Garcia Teutsch and River Tabor. We publish books by the best writers out there, and are committed to publishing poetry in translation. We also produce theater pieces, poetry events and cinepoems.

We are:

addictive because we engage the mind and body
and must be, first and foremost a publisher for the best writing out there
a site for poetry, fiction, art, and conversation
sexily designed, sleek dark wood and glass
sometimes wears a turtleneck unironically
interested in work that is unafraid to believe that art only and always
fails when the reader walks away.
a memory resident
necessarily resistant to that “write what you know”
life-sentence: As if anyone,
much less a writer, knows what they know.
situated globally, with the belief that an American avant-garde is
impossible if it is unaware of international avant-gardes.
equally sure that all poetry is nature poetry which is why nature poetry
proves insufficient.
instead a poetry that is ecological in scope
entirely accessible, which is to say it doesn’t seek to limit what you
can read to
what you think you can read.
unbecoming of the Crown and of any court.
a hurricane of emotionally complex performances, wild visuals, and
narrative brio.
a dance. Poet Republik is an escape. It’s a daydream during real work. It’s a nervous
fire glowing
a communication game
